Maija Purgaile   (Maija Grīnfelde from 1977 to 1997).
Born in Riga, January 29, 1953. Currently living in Riga.
Mother of four children.
Qualifications
1971 – graduated from class of  Physics, Riga State Gymnasium No 1.
1977 – graduated from department of Textile Art Design, State Academy of Arts
2002 – graduated from Latvian University,  Faculty of Theology, with teaching qualifications in Religion and Ethics.
2003 – Latvian Academy of Arts, derived Humanities Master of Arts. Completed a Master's thesis in "Art, ethics, personality:  R.Heimrats - man, artist, teacher "
Participated in exhibitions since 1977. I work in a variety of techniques - painting, textiles, graphics, etc.
Solo exhibitions - from 1983. Gulbene Museum, Koknese Church / P. Stucka Museum /, Talsi Museum, Riga, etc.
2001 “Crossroads” at Daugavpils History and Art Museum,
2004 St. Savior's Church in Riga (Anglican Church), etc.
2012.l. "Through the Flower Blizzard" family exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Father Hermans Purgailis in the Jurmala City Museum, etc.
2019. “Meeting by the fireplace” in Jurmala City Museum.

Works in collections - The Latvian Artist Union Museum, Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation, Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, The Pauls Stradiņš Museum of the History of Medicine, Jurmala City Museum, Daugavpils History and Art Museum etc. In private collections in Austria, Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Sweden, France, Norway, Russia, Latvia and elsewhere.
